Laurent Malek started his career at the worldwide headquarter of Philip Morris Companies in New York. He supervised all marketing materials for the Marlboro brand, and liaised with all the regions to create communication material created in Chicago through Leo Burnett. Mr. Malek then moved to Switzerland at Philip Morris Europe HQ, where he launched in Europe the Marlboro Classics diversification of the Marlboro brand.
Mr. Malek then moved to Paris to launch the first non-English Disney Channel in France, as its Marketing Director. Due to the channel's success, Mr. Malek was promoted to Vice President Marketing France and Benelux for the Walt Disney Company, and then as CEO of Walt Disney TV Italy and East Med region. Under his leadership the Disney Channel grew from 100 thousand subscribers to over 3 million, and Mr. Malek also launched Toon and Playhouse Disney as multiplex channels.
Mr. Malek then moved on to the online gaming industry, and launched as CEO of Game Media Networks' two portals, one MMO free to play portal based on Korean games, and a JV with RCS Media Group, Fueps.com. Mr. Malek recently became an entrepreneur and created LM Marketing Group, a firm specialized in the entertainment industry.
Mr. Malek holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and an MBA from Boston University Graduate School of Management, and attented executive seminars at MIT. He speaks English, French, Italian and Hebrew. He is married with two children.
He joined Motu Novu in 2010.
